Proverbs 28:13–14 (NKJV)
“He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. Happy is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.”
So many of us battle things like addiction, anger, lust, jealousy, depression, and anxiety. And the truth is—most of it traces back to something that hurt us, something that left a mark.
As time passes, those moments may feel distant, but the emotional ties remain. At some point, the responsibility becomes ours.
What are we going to do with it?
We say we’ve healed. We say we’ve moved on. But if we’re honest… do our actions reflect that?
It’s easy to look put together in public. But what’s happening behind closed doors? What does our life look like when no one else is watching—except the Father?
Are we living free… or just appearing free?
The Word is clear: when we hide our sin it hardens our hearts, we stop growing. We stop prospering—not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually too. It becomes a cycle—trouble leading to more trouble, and a life lacking true joy.
But there is a way out.
Confess. Turn away. Walk in reverence.
Romans 12:2 (NIV) reminds us:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
Freedom starts with surrender.
Stop hiding. Stop fighting it on your own.
Let God renew your mind—and walk in the freedom He’s already made available to you.
