WINTER STORM UPDATE, this our thoughts as of Wednesday.
Folks, I know this is a busy graphic, but let me explain.
We have a widespread winter storm starting on Friday and lasting through Sunday.
Below is the latest Arkansas Weather Network forecast for this storm.
PURPLE: Heavier snow probability across our northernmost counties, a foot of snow or more is on the table.
DARK BLUE: We will have a corridor of sleet/snow along and just north of I-40 and into western Arkansas.
We expect 6” to 12” or so in this area, some minor freezing rain too.
LIGHT PINK: This will be the battle zone! Freezing rain (up to .25” possible), sleet and snow too.
Sleet and snow could combine up to 3” to 6” by Sunday.
DARK PINK: ICE and a bunch of it, freezing rain totals up to 1.50” possible. Some sleet at times also.
We will continue to update our forecast to make sure you are properly prepared for your region.
I know that this is starting to get a little bit exhausting, but we are almost there guys.
If you take anything away from this forecast, it should be that this will be a very impactful winter storm.
You should anticipate slick roadways, business closures, church closings, etc.
This storm will arrive on Friday evening and last through Sunday morning.
