This is a key role as a primary point of contact for patients of Ivey Family Medicine. Ivey Family Medicine is a close knit fast-paced environment requiring a positive and adaptive nature. We are looking for an energetic person who loves patient care and is willing to learn new things.
Tasks/Accountabilities:
• Strong daily on-time attendance is critical.
• Greet patients both in person and on the phone to the clinic in a customer-oriented manner.
• Assist physician with the duties of that role.
• Room patients and take histories for entry into the EMR.
• Obtain prior authorizations.
• Give intramuscular and subcutaneous and intradermal injections.
• Obtain blood samples and do in-house lab tests.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean.
• Manage referral requirements accurately and in a timely manner.
• Effectively meet post exam process requirements.
• Take inventory of medical and exam room supplies.
• Additional compensation for phlebotomy skills and medical scribe experience.
Experience/Education:
• Certified from an accredited medical assistant program with current certification.
• Certified BLS
• Experience in using an EMR required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical clinic required.
• Working knowledge and medical terminology is required.
• Must be able to work well in a small team environment.
• Have an affinity and passion for excellence in healthcare.
• Knowledge of HIPAA.
