The Yoga of Spiritual Devotion: An 8-Week Journey into Bhakti Yoga with Sharada Devi & Kanhaiya Das

Course Description
Bhakti Yoga — the yoga of love and surrender — invites us to open the heart as a gateway to divine realization. In this 8-week experiential study, we’ll journey through the core teachings of ā€œThe Yoga of Spiritual Devotion: A Modern Translation of the Narada Bhakti Sutrasā€ by Prem Prakash, ā€œBhakti Yogaā€ by Swami Vivekananda, and Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita, the classic discourse on the path of devotion.

Each two-hour session blends:
Sacred Chanting & Kirtan taught and led by Kanhaiya Das to awaken the heart’s natural devotion.

Guided Discussion with Sharada Devi drawing from the Bhakti Sutras, Swami Vivekananda, and the Gita.

Contemplation & Journaling to integrate the teachings into daily life.

Satsang (community sharing) to nurture connection and shared inspiration.

Together we’ll explore the living essence of Bhakti: love as a spiritual discipline, surrender as liberation, and service as worship.

Devotional chanting is a Bhakti yoga practice that gets us out of our minds and into our hearts where we connect with the Divine. All are welcome—no experience is necessary! 🌹

ā€œKirtan is a vessel that can hold love, longing, union, separation, lust, despair, mourning, anger, hate, sadness, ecstasy, and oneness,ā€ he adds. ā€œPowered by the fire of these emotions … In lightness, in darkness, in despair, in joy we sing the names…Kirtan is food for the spirit, a life raft of song.ā€ —Jai Uttal šŸ•‰ļø

ā€œThese ancient chants contain a transformative power and healing energy. By singing these prayers we join a stream of consciousness and devotion that has been flowing for centuries.ā€ —Jai Uttal šŸ”±
This event is by donation at the door, and you may reserve a spot in advance on our app. šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™
