WE ARE HAVING A BOOK CLUB!!

We are so excited to gather with other ladies and chit chat and get to know our bodies and health in a godly manner.

We would love for you to join us but we just can’t quite decide on what day would be best.

If this is something that would be interest to you could you meet Monday at 6pm or Friday at 6pm?

This would be a weekly thing and unsure just how many weeks just yet we can kind of see what works reading wise for everyone.

Courtney has been reading the book lately and it’s amazing. It has amazing prayer and prompts at the end to have great discussion about. It truly helps you see your body in a different way than society has been “telling” us.

So let us know below if you are in and take the vote on the day!

About the book: “For too long, women have been caught in the relentless cycle of dieting fads and fleeting body-positivity trends, quick-fix weight-loss solutions, and intimidating lifestyle overhauls. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by society’s false promises and conflicting advice, you’re not alone.

Jordan Lee Dooley knows this struggle well. She has navigated the same confusing landscape, all while grappling with the constant feeling of never doing enough.

In Be Good to Your Body, Jordan invites you on a powerful journey of health and faith. She shows you how to pursue wellness as an act of worship to God, rather than making wellness itself an idol. Drawing on scientific research, Scripture, expert insights, and her own experiences, she reveals

● how to view your body as a God-given gift, not a project to fix
● the pitfalls of diet culture and self-love—and why neither extreme satisfies
● the biblical principle of stewardship as a path to holistic health
● practical steps and daily habits to align your health practices with God’s design

Jordan points you back to biblical foundations and the goodness of God, asking: What if the real solution to the extremes of diet culture and body positivity has been there all along, nestled in the pages of the Bible—the Word of the One who created our bodies and knows exactly what they need to thrive?

Discover the joy of honoring your body as you return to the good things God made for you as you embrace a wellness journey that nourishes your spirit and brings you closer to your creator.”

Celebrating 3 Years of Solace Counseling & Wellness! 🎉🩵🥰

Three years ago, I opened Solace with one hope in mind: to create a space where people could feel supported, accepted, and met exactly where they are.
Today, as I look back, what stands out the most are the connections made, the stories shared, and the privilege of walking alongside so many in their healing journeys.

One of the most meaningful parts of this work has been the support I’ve been able to provide within our community and just as equally, the support the community has shown in return. Moments like clients sharing their recent successes or the incredible turnout at our Ponies & Pancakes event remind me why I do what I do. Your encouragement has meant more than you know.

Over these three years, I’ve grown not only as a provider but as a person. I’ve become more confident in my role and have discovered a niche that has truly captured my heart: Equine-Assisted Therapy. Being the first to bring this service to Morgan County has been one of the most exciting parts of Solace’s journey, and I can’t wait to continue growing and expanding in this work.

In the past year it’s been exciting to grow and add to the practice. I now have with me:
-Courtney Miller, Wellness Coach
-Lisa Fulton, Executive Assistant
-Katelyn Reese, Equine Professional
-Yoda and Hickory, Therapy Ponies

My hope has always been for Solace to be a place rooted in:
Connection
Trust
Compassion
Hope
Safety

To every client, supporter, and community member thank you for trusting me, for walking through vulnerable moments with courage, and for allowing me to be part of your story. It is an honor I never take for granted.

Thank you to all my friends, family and the community for supporting me this year! This has been my favorite year yet and I can’t wait to see where year four takes me with all of you beside me.

Here’s to growth, healing, and many more years of doing meaningful work together.

-Lacee Kidwell, LPC and Owner

10 Tips for a Healthier, Happier Halloween coming from a girly pop who loves candy

Halloween can be fun without turning into a total sugar spiral. Here are a few realistic ways to enjoy the night and still feel good the next day:

1. Fuel up first. Eat a balanced meal with protein and fiber before the candy starts flowing. It helps curb cravings and keeps blood sugar steady.

2. Hydrate before you haunt. Sometimes thirst can feel like a craving. Keep your water or Hydrate handy while you’re out and about.

3. Pick your favorites. Instead of grazing on random candy, choose your top few pieces and actually enjoy them. Quality over quantity.

4. Walk it out. Trick-or-treating is built-in movement. Embrace it—get those extra steps while you’re out with the kids.

5. Balance the rest of your day. Keep meals colorful and nutrient-dense to balance the sugar later.

6. Ditch the guilt. One night of fun doesn’t undo your progress. It’s all about consistency, not perfection.

7. Watch the ingredients. Choose treats (or swap-ins) made without artificial dyes or high-fructose corn syrup when possible, or at least try and limit them after youve had some favorites.

8. Upgrade your treats. Try dark chocolate, homemade popcorn, or fruit-based snacks if you want something sweet without the crash.

9. Prioritize rest. Late-night sugar and screens can mess with your sleep. Wind down with tea or magnesium instead.

10. Reset the next day. Get back to your normal habits—hydrate, move your body, maybe add a greens smoothie or Life Shake for a little post-Halloween reset.

Halloween is meant to be enjoyed. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s balance.
