Licensed by the State of West Virginia as a Critical Access Hospital (CAH), War Memorial has 25 swing beds, which can be utilized for acute or skilled care, in addition to a 16-bed long term care unit. Peer recovery support specialists at Valley Health are helping patients take the first step toward recovery. Through Project Engage, individuals with substance use disorders are connected to treatment and support—starting right at the hospital bedside. Thanks to a grant from the West Virginia Office of Drug Control Policy, Hampshire Memorial and War Memorial hospitals now have added resources to guide patients toward long-term recovery.
