🚗 Barrier Removed!

Amber Lowther recently received a donated vehicle through our partnership with Good News Mountaineer Garage — helping remove one of the biggest barriers many participants face: transportation.

Over the past year, Amber has been working with Transition Agent Shannon Carnes, who helped connect her with this referral opportunity.

Reliable transportation can make all the difference when it comes to getting to work, training, and appointments. This vehicle will help Amber continue moving forward on her journey toward stability and meaningful employment.

👏 Congratulations, Amber! And thank you to Good News Mountaineer Garage for helping create opportunities for West Virginians across the state.

Pastor Jack and Pastor Lola have been serving in a volunteer capacity for Life or Drugs since 2013 when the group first formed. They have dedicated their lives to serving and have the most beautiful hearts of anyone I’ve ever met.

To be eligible, an individual must:

✅ Be a West Virginia resident (*U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen)
✅ Be 18 years of age or older
✅ Have career employment as their primary goal
✅ Have at least one barrier to education and/or career employment
✅ Agree to be actively engaged in ongoing education, training, or job placement activities
✅ Be committed to maintaining recovery (if applicable)
✅ Agree to provide negative drug test results monthly and/or randomly to their Transition Agent

Hi everyone,

My name is Brittnay, and I’m the Lead Case Manager with Life or Drugs. As the Morgan County Captain for the upcoming Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, I’m reaching out to gather information and connect individuals who may be experiencing homelessness with essential resources and support services in our area.

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is an annual, federally mandated (by HUD) one-night survey conducted to count sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness. It provides a snapshot of homelessness for housing stabilization programs, planning services, and allocating resources.
