The pelvic floor isn’t separate from the rest of your body. It’s part of the musculoskeletal system, just like your hips, back, and legs.

It’s controlled by nerves, responds to movement, and is influenced by how you stand, walk, breathe, and move throughout the day. That’s why posture, foot mechanics, hip strength, and spinal mobility all matter for pelvic floor health.

At Level Up Wellness and Physical Theraphy, we don’t treat pelvic floor muscles in isolation. We look at the whole body, head to toe. To understand why symptoms are happening and how to create lasting change.

Kegels can be helpful, but they aren’t always the answer.

If the pelvic floor is already tight or not coordinating well, doing more Kegels can actually make symptoms worse. Pelvic floor health depends on strength, flexibility, and timing; not just squeezing.

Pelvic floor physical therapy looks at how the muscles are really functioning and helps restore balance so symptoms can improve. 💙

The pelvic floor isn’t just one muscle, it’s a system.

One layer helps control bladder and bowel function, while a deeper layer supports the pelvis and internal organs. For healthy pelvic floor function, both layers need to work together.

When they don’t, symptoms like leakage, pain, or pressure can appear. Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on restoring coordination between these layers so your body can function comfortably again. 💙

Pelvic floor problems aren’t just about weakness.

For the pelvic floor to work well, it needs strength, flexibility, coordination, and the ability to respond to pressure. When one of these is off, symptoms like pain, urgency, or leakage can show up.

Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on restoring that balance so your body can function more comfortably again. 💙

When people think about pelvic floor issues, they often picture one or two symptoms. But pelvic floor dysfunction can show up in many lesser-known ways.

Some signs we commonly see include persistent hip or low back pain, tailbone or groin discomfort, leaking with coughing or sneezing, rushing to the bathroom, waking up multiple times at night to p*e, or feeling like you’re going far more often than usual.

These symptoms are common, but they’re not something you have to live with. And they’re often connected to how the pelvic floor muscles are working (or not working).

Pelvic floor physical therapy focuses on restoring coordination, strength, and relaxation so your body can function more comfortably again.

💙 Awareness is the first step.
If any of this sounds familiar, pelvic floor PT can help.
