PSA- Ikea is couples kryptonite. There is so much truth to that running joke. If you are seeing me solo or for couples therapy, eventually you will tell me about a fight you had at Ikea. And I will nod my head sagely and tell you that you never stood a chance.

People often ask if therapists have their own therapists- yes, most of us do. For me, quality time with colleagues is just as healing so I threw a crafting party this weekend
(a 'crafternoon' as a delightful attendee put it 😆). This can be a lonely job, it's so helpful to talk about being a small business owner & a caretaker with people who understand.

If there's someone who makes your workday a little lighter and brighter, here's a nudge to share your appreciation with them.

Holiday Survival Reminder:

Whether you're choosing to work, opting out of a family dinner, eating a different diet than usual, chillin at home by yourself, or choosing to engage/disengage from political talk- your choices are your own and you don't need to defend them. If you're feeling guilty or like you're an object of pity after an interaction with another person, it's likely that they are projecting their own feelings, opinion, or perspective onto you- which is not your problem. There are no laws or moral obligations to spend a symbolic day a certain way. You do you! 🍂🍁
