The year-long diagnostic/herbal prescribing mentorship class that I'm taking is looking for 2 volunteer clients for our teaching clinic in Berkeley this Saturday, June 13 in the morning. Please let me know if you or someone you know might be interested in participating. This is an opportunity to consult with an excellent master-practitioner on a health issue of concern to you. More details below :)

Some of you know that I've been participating in an mentorship program this year focused clinical diagnostic and herbal prescribing skills. The class is taught by a master Chinese medicine practitioner named Will Morris, who is president of an acupuncture/integrative medicine college in Austin, TX. As a participant in this program, I meet with Will Morris and a group of mostly Western herbalists one weekend a month.

Our class is seeking two volunteer clients to participate this Saturday, June 13. What this entails is coming to class at 9 or 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The class is held at the Ohlone Center of Herbal Studies in West/Central Berkeley. My understanding is that the volunteer clients will meet/consult first privately with Will, the teacher, and then participate in the class as a client-model. The volunteer clients should expect to be at Ohlone Center for three hours, and will leave with an herbal remedy (free of cost.) Of course, as a volunteer client, you would have to be willing to have your case discussed by a classroom 10 or 15 herbalists --- they are all very caring & respectful, and our teacher Will Morris has great vibes & a lot of wisdom & kindness. Everything discussed in the classroom is held in confidence & respected as private health information.

If you have a persistent health issue that you're working on, or even if not, this could be an interesting opportunity for you to consult with a master practitioner, get some insights & some good medicine.

Yesterday I provided acupuncture support for labor induction for one of the mom's in our preschool in her 40-something-th week of pregnancy. This morning, the expectant papa greeted me at preschool drop-off with a joyous hug & a quick summary of the labor which had begun in the night. Little one on the way! So fun being a neighborhood acupuncturist!

There's a little bit about acupuncture support for pregnancy on my website.

Among the interesting conditions I'm treating in my clinic this week with acupuncture, herbs, &/or orthopedic therapy are:
trigeminal neuralgia (facial pain),
vitiligo,
interstitial cystitis (bladder pain),
sequelae of lyme disease...
along with neck, shoulder & low back pain, post-surgical recovery, and cold symptoms. It feels good to be able to offer help & resources for conditions with limited treatment options.

A study on the efficacy of acupuncture in treating the life-threatening condition of sepsis by triggering anti-inflammatory neuro-endocrine responses.

A mouse study shows the benefits of electroacupuncture in treating sepsis, an inflammatory condition appearing in intensive care units that kills around 250,000 in the US annually.
