As we begin Black History Month, we do so at a time when our country is still grappling with deep divisions, hard truths, and unanswered questions about equity and justice.
Black history reminds us that progress has never been linear and that every step forward has required courage, persistence, and community.
This month is both a reflection on the past and a call to be present, to listen more closely, learn more deeply, and move forward with intention, empathy, and accountability.
Honoring Black history means recognizing where we are, how we got here, and the responsibility we each share in shaping what comes next. Learning doesn’t stop at the end of February, and neither does our commitment to doing better together.
