Kick out Lenku to free yourselves, economy - Nkedianye
Description
Excitement as former governor David Nkedianye lands in Naserian, Kajiado East, to a sounding welcome by the Kaputiei Maasai who declared him their indispensable leader.
Nkedianye, who earlier on Tuesday met with President Uhuru Kenyatta in Ngong during a state function, landed in Naserian around 6 pm and told governor Joseph Lenku to prepare to hand over office to him after the August 9 general election.
“This is a man who has plundered our resources, he has no regard for anyone, even his people, and still wants to continue hanging on to power,” said Nkedianye to an astounding ululation from his supporters.
He said the current regime in Kajiado has stifled the county’s economy, messed up public services and even run-down hospitals in every corner of the region.
“When I was governor, I ensured that all the livestock in the county received regular vaccination, and all that stopped after Lenku came in. During my time, I also ensured every corner of this county received sufficient water, which has now become a problem among our people,” said Nkedianye.
The former governor told the Kaputiei community that before the 2017 general election, when he was kicked out by the regime at the time because he was an opposition leader, he had installed security lights in all urban areas of the region.
“Those lights were switched off because they could not pay the bills. Thugs are mugging our people in urban towns because of a failed system,” added Nkedianye.
He urged the people of Kajiado to vote wisely and gauge those seeking elective positions. Nkedianye told them not to make a similar mistake they made in 2017.
“It is a great shame to hear that a bridge constructed by a county at Sh120 million from your taxes collapses less than one week after it is inaugurated,” claimed Nkedianye.
