Meet Carole: Gull Creek’s Resident Sports SuperfanIf you hear an enthusiastic “Go Terps!” echoing down the hallway in March, chances are it’s coming from Carole.
A proud resident of Gull Creek, Carole recently made the move from the third floor to a newly renovated apartment on the first floor — and she couldn’t be happier with her decision. “The apartment is very nice, and the location is more convenient for me,” she shares. One of her favorite features? A lovely garden view right outside her window. “It’s such a pretty view,” she says, smiling.
Carole treasures the independence she enjoys at Gull Creek. “I love that I have a private apartment and I can come and go as I please,” she explains. That freedom, paired with the welcoming community around her, makes Gull Creek truly a nice atmosphere.
But if there’s one thing that really gets Carole’s heart racing, it’s basketball — especially college basketball. Growing up just two miles from University of Maryland, she was immersed in the excitement from an early age. “We would walk to all of the basketball games when I was little,” she recalls. “It was entertainment to us.” Those childhood walks sparked a lifelong love of the game.
Today, Carole proudly cheers on the Maryland Terrapins men's and women’s basketball, her number one team. She keeps track of their games and stats and follows the season closely. “March Madness is great — I am glued to the TV!” she says. And while the Terrapins top her list, she also enjoys cheering for teams across the Atlantic Coast Conference. She loves heading down to our newly renovated sunroom to watch basketball games on the big-screen TV. The best part is that it’s just down the hall from her apartment.
“I am just a crazy sports nut — what can I say?” Carole laughs.
Her love of sports isn’t limited to the sidelines. In high school, Carole played basketball herself, bringing that same passion to the court. She’s also an accomplished bowler, often competing in three leagues at once. In fact, she once earned second place in the state of Maryland for duckpin bowling — an impressive achievement that speaks to her competitive spirit.
Whether she’s enjoying the peaceful garden view from her apartment or cheering on her beloved Terps, Carole brings energy, enthusiasm, and team spirit to Gull Creek. We’re lucky to have such a devoted fan — and such a vibrant individual — calling Gull Creek home.
