Meet Catherine!!

Since moving to Gull Creek Senior Living in August 2025, resident, Catherine, has embraced a new chapter filled with connection, music, and community.

After the passing of her sister, she and her family decided it was time for a change—choosing Gull Creek to be closer to her daughter and surrounded by support. What Catherine found was more than just a place to live—it became home. In addition to her amazing daughter, Catherine also has 2 sons that she adores and is proud of!

She shares that one of her favorite parts of life at Gull Creek is the friendships she’s formed. “Everyone is so friendly,” she says. She also enjoys spending time and walking in the garden, she is excited to see the flowers bloom. And with the charming Town of Berlin nearby, there’s always something to appreciate about the area she’s always loved.
Music has been a lifelong passion. Beginning piano lessons in third grade in Greenwood, Delaware, and continuing through her school years—even studying organ and voice in Allentown, Pennsylvania—music has always been part of her story. As the wife of a minister, she often played piano during church services.

Today, she continues to share her gift at Gull Creek, playing for weekly hymn sings, memorial services, and special events. “I enjoy playing the piano and singing,” she says. “I sing when walking through the hallways.”
Reflecting on her journey, Catherine shares, “This has been a whole new world to me, but this is my home now.”

Our residents had a blast preparing cupcakes for our April birthday celebration! 🧁 From mixing and decorating to adding those sweet finishing touches, the fun didn’t stop there—it was even better enjoying their delicious creations together with friends.

We are so grateful to Walmart for their generous donation of beautiful flowers to our community! 🌸

Our residents had a wonderful time getting creative and crafting lovely bouquets to share. It was a joyful activity filled with smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. Thank you for helping us spread a little extra happiness! 💐

We were thrilled to be a vendor at this year’s HealthFest hosted by TidalHealth! 💙

HealthFest 2026 brought the Delmarva community together for a day focused on wellness, offering free health screenings, educational resources, and fun, family-friendly activities. It was inspiring to see so many individuals taking steps toward healthier living and connecting with healthcare professionals.

As a vendor, we loved the opportunity to share more about Gull Creek Senior Living—answering questions, exchanging stories, and building meaningful relationships with community members.

This week, we came together at Gull Creek to honor and remember the lives of those we have lost. ❤️ In partnership with Coastal Hospice, we held a heartfelt memorial service filled with reflection, remembrance, and love.

Family, friends, and staff gathered to share memories, light candles, and celebrate the lasting impact each of these special individuals had on our community. Though they may no longer be with us, their presence will always remain in our hearts. 💫

🌱🌼 May 14th was National Gardening Day, and here at Gull Creek, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work! With gloves, rakes, and shovels in hand, our residents had a wonderful time creating beautiful container gardens. 🌿

We can’t wait for next week as we dig in and start planting our veggies—stay tuned to watch our garden grow! 🥕🍅
