For over 34 years, Captain Lou DeMarco & Lieutenant Jen Somers have honored the memory of our past members, laying a wreath to express heartfelt thanks for their years of devoted service and to recognize the invaluable contributions they've made to our community. During the Holiday season, we take time to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have come before us, thanking them for their selflessness, their kindness, and their inspiring commitment to helping others. What a wonderful night we had at the Berlin Borough Tree Lighting last evening! Our Berlin EMS crews were honored to be part of such a beautiful community tradition. The holiday spirit was everywhere from the sparkling lights to the smiling faces of families coming together to celebrate the season.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the night so special. We are grateful to serve such a supportive and close-knit community.

Last evening, our Berlin EMS crews were honored to attend the Berlin Township Tree Lighting ceremony. What a beautiful way to kick off the holiday season with our community!

A special thank you to Solid Rock Baptist Church for their incredible choir and the heartfelt nativity scene, it truly added warmth and meaning to the night. 🎶✨

Today, we pause to reflect with gratitude for our community, our partners, and the privilege of serving you year-round.

To the families spending today together, we wish you warmth, laughter, and meaningful moments. To all those working, serving, or responding today whether in healthcare, public safety, or military we thank you for your continued dedication and sacrifice.

We are especially thankful for our EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, dispatchers, and support staff who remain ready 24/7, holidays included. Your dedication ensures that help is always just a call away, and your commitment to the safety and well-being of our community does not go unnoticed.

A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Phyllis Magazzu for nominating Berlin EMS for the Outstsnding Action by EMS Program and Prehospital Program of the Year, and our very own Anna Behnke for the EMS Career Lifetime Achievement Award. While we did not take home the win this year, the nomination alone speaks volumes about the dedication, service, and heart within our department. We could not do it without all the hardwork of our employees.

We are incredibly proud of Anna and her more than 30 years of commitment to EMS. Her passion for serving others, mentoring future providers, and putting the community first has shaped not only our organization, but emergency care in our region. She embodies professionalism, compassion, and the spirit of EMS.

Recognition like this reminds us why we do what we do because every call, every patient, every moment matters.

Congratulations Anna — and thank you again, Mayor Magazzu, for believing in our mission and honoring the work we do every day. ❤️🚑

Several members are currently attending the National EMS Conference in Atlantic City, where they are participating in educational sessions on leadership, medical advancements and treatments, and current trends in EMS.
