Every morning we wake up to a day full of unlimited possibilities, choices, opportunities. Some days we rise with the energy to conquer the day. Some days maybe not so much…. Just sticking to our schedule like it’s a mundane chore.
But here is the thing….why do we feel as though these are our only mind-set selections to have?
Firstly, we call a day, a day. What happens in our minds when we refer to something as a singular entity? We act accordingly, by treating a day as singular event. Yes, this is not a black and white fact. But if you think about it, we usually don’t merge Tues. and Wed. together as one event unless one event took place across those two days, etc. We call a week, a week. We ask others, “how was your week?” Like it is a singular event.
Secondly, our minds were designed to think this way; depending upon your culture. And in this case I am referring to the American culture, which is definitely designed to label EVERYTHING individually.
Thirdly, by having such specific parameters around how we take in information we miss the beauty and wisdom that surrounds things because we are not paying attention to it. For example, if we were going for a walk and I said, “hey, look at that pretty flower (as I was pointing at it).” What would you look at? The flower, right?! You might take it in and say, “yeah, that’s a pretty flower.” But what information are you taking in and labeling it as a flower? Just the object at hand, a singular object, a flower. So what beauty is missed? What wisdom was lost? What understanding was not understood?
When NOT a singular mind takes in the flower, it not only sees the flower but everything that brought that seed to fruition. It has too. It does not make sense to that perception of reality to look upon an object without taking in how it came to be. Because it would not exist otherwise.
Fourthly, the design has been set in stone. Everyday we subconsciously train our brains to function singularly. Thus, becoming conditioned. Limited in our capacity to take in information. Missing so very much, but if you don’t know you are missing it, then does it matter to you?😊
