Pelvic Stability PT

Pelvic Stability PT My name is Elizabeth Stryker. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) specializing in pelvic health.

The pelvic floor plays a vital role in the health of the genitourinary, gastrointestinal, and musculoskeletal systems of the body, yet symptoms of an improperly functioning pelvic floor may be difficult to identify, embarrassing to talk about, and dismissed by providers. Pelvic floor dysfunction can manifest as urinary leakage, constipation, frequent nighttime urination, and pain with vaginal insertion, amongst other symptoms. I am passionate about empowering client to feel confident and in control of their pelvic floor. My goal when someone works with me is that they leave with a feeling of relief - that they have a plan, that someone listened to them, and that they will have the tools to help themselves!

Slashing those goals right at the last second still counts!

Art of 2025. A year in review.

Brains are tricky little things. They can make you believe things that are simply untrue. Especially in moments of down time and rest, as winter ❄️ calls us to do.

On a daily basis, it feels like I don’t do much so this was a fun walk down the creative memory lane.

Encouraging anyone who got this far to be proud of whatever they accomplished as well as any rest breaks they took this year!

Something I haven’t done in a very long time! Thinking about setting up shop to tend to all those tailbones ⚡️

Strong bladder urges can pop up on you anywhere - a few tips to deal:
1. Stop moving
2. Sit if you can
3. Breathe
4. Distract yourself
5. A few quick pelvic floor contractions

Don’t rush! Rushing can lead to leaks.

Key in the door syndrome is real and one of the most wild mind body connection examples - you pull in the driveway, see the toilet, hear running water and BAM you have p*e like your life depends on it. It’s real but you can help yourself!

Find opportunities for movement that brings you JOY - dancing, skiing hiking, walking, yoga are tops for me - lean in to the things that feel good!

Grateful for the chance to dust off the cross country skis today!

This time of year can be overwhelming - take care of yourself! It’s not selfish, it’s necessary.

Challenge: look for ways to practice your breath work/core work in every day tasks.
