Donāt Forget to leather your patients skin up with cream after changing and bathing .
My favorite cream to cure and prevent wounds is anything with zinc . Nurses and doctors I have worked with has always told me to put zinc cream mixed with some type of petroleum jelly on my patient ļæ¼rectum,pressure area, and certain wounds.
Adding petroleum jelly to your cream helps the cream wash off easily when itās time to get clean.
ļæ¼Sometimes cream can dry up on the wound making it harder to come off when itās time to get clean. Washing and scrubbing the wound can irritate the skin and make wound worse or cause a wound to appear.
Most doctor and nurses recommend applying cream to any area that the patient is likely to lay on especially when bed bound. Applying zinc regularly can help prevent some wounds .
Contact your patients doctor or nurse to get the best treatment plan for your patients wound. Some wounds requires much more attention.
