I have been a stay at home mother since the birth of my first son in 1995. Since then I had three more babies and loved being pregnant and giving birth. Every aspect of motherhood comes very natural to me and being a stay at home Mom has been the perfect fit. As my children have grown and become more self-sufficient I realize that my energy and enthusiasm needs to be put to good use. I discovered doula services and the more I learned the more I realized that this is the perfect fit for me! I started my journey to become a doula over two years ago. During that time I have become completely immersed in my work and continuing education. I have met so many wonderful people and have participated in some amazing births. How lucky am I to get to experience the miracle of birth over and over again! Being pregnant, experiencing labor and delivery are not medical conditions. I believe women should have a voice in how they would like to labor and deliver their babies. I offer open minded and enthusiastic support for Mothers-to-be. Whether you are planning a medicated birth, a C-section, VBAC or would like an all natural birth, I am there for you. As your birth doula I will help you achieve a calm and gentle birth. I will provide continuous emotional, physical and informational support. I will gently remind you of your birth plan. In labor it is easy to lose focus. I will help you with visualization and to stay as calm and relaxed as possible in between contractions. I will provide comfort measures during contractions. After the birth I will help you with skin-to-skin and baby self-latching if you plan on breastfeeding. I have taken Childbirth education classes and am trained in Hypnobirthing. I am looking forward to helping you achieve your dream birth.
