Bethany Children's Health Center (formerly The Children's Center Rehabilitation Hospital) offers long term nursing and rehabilitative care, pediatric medical rehabilitation, and outpatient services- general pediatrics, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Because the hospital is a private nonprofit, we appreciate donations that help provide the best care available to the patients and their families. It is with deep appreciation that we celebrate the retirement of Vera, a nurse whose 70+ year career has been defined by compassion, service, and unwavering dedication!

Vera began nursing school in 1952 and became a licensed RN in 1955. At 91 years old, she has continued to serve with the same generous spirit she carried from day one. Her impact on Bethany Children’s, especially within the Nursing Department, will be felt for generations.

Throughout her career, Vera has received many honors, including:
✨ Mattie Core Value Award (2022)
✨ March of Dimes Heroes in Action Lifetime Achievement Award (2023)
✨ Recognition for 35 years of service at Bethany Children’s (2025)

Amber McKinzie, Chief of Hospital Services, shared:
“Ms. Vera has paved the way for what the Nursing Department is today… She has spent her life caring for others, impacting every patient she has met.”

Vera’s legacy is woven into the heart of Bethany Children’s, into its hallways, its caregivers, and the countless young lives she has touched. 💛 Ms. Vera will always be part of our story!

Kobie is heading home—just in time for the holidays! 🥰

Kobie came to Bethany Children's at just 2 months old after being transferred between several hospitals. Kobie has spent over 100 days recovering from multiple surgeries and is growing stronger every day.

Her mom says, "𝘐'𝘮 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵." Now, Kobie is heading home to surprise her family for Thanksgiving! 🧡
