Dried fruits, such as raisins and apricots, may seem healthy, but they can harm your teeth. Their stickiness and natural sugars encourage cavity-causing bacteria to thrive. Remember to brush and floss after snacking. Want more tips for maintaining a healthy smile? Contact us at (412) 831-8700.

Brushing too hard can do more harm than good. Scrubbing aggressively doesn’t mean cleaner teeth. It can actually wear down enamel and irritate your gums. The trick is to use a soft-bristle toothbrush in gentle circular motions and brush for a full 2 minutes. Think of brushing like massaging rather than scrubbing. If your toothbrush bristles fray quickly or your gums bleed often, it might be time to rethink your technique.
