We still have some more fantastic photos coming in that we will post, but thank you to everyone who celebrated One Book, One Community with us! Corduroy had a busy week visiting our programs, reading to our preschoolers and posing for a whole lot of pictures.
Here at the Early Childhood Council of Western CT. Early Childhood office we were amazed by the creativity, the exciting activities, art projects, celebrity readers and the thousand different ways that all of you brought Corduroy to life in your classrooms.

This fun update from Action Early Learning Center 2, one of our Early Start CT funded programs. Love all of the fun antics and boy can our preschool teachers and administrators get into character.

🐻To celebrate One book, One community, AELC 2 preschoolers hosted a Teddy Bear Workshop. This hands-on project was a wonderful way to bring the story to life and encourage collaboration, fine motor skills and great teamwork. Also, our special Corduroy was a magical bear . He moved around the classroom every night and the kids looked for him every morning.

Thanks to the YMCA Children's Center and Bethel First Selectman Dan Carter for kicking off our One Book, One Community event last week. First Selectman Carter read to our preschoolers accompanied by an adorable Corduroy 🐻and friends.

Local Family Childcare providers attended a recent professional development event delivered by Maria Vargas, to create lesson plans and activities to use in their care settings for a weeklong celebration of Corduroy. Corduroy books were distributed to all that attended.
