Let's talk Mattresses😴

Something that has been coming up a lot lately with patients is pain when waking up in the morning. There are a few causes for this, but a big one is the mattress. Most people spend approximately one-third of their entire life lying in bed. The quality of your mattress can make a huge difference between waking up feeling refreshed and waking up in pain. In fact, old worn-out mattresses are an extremely common contributor to chronic back and neck pain. Consider a new mattress an investing in your health and who wouldn't want to get night of restful sleep!

February is Marfan Syndrome Awareness Month!

What is Marfan Syndrome?
Marfan syndrome is a genetic condition that affects the body’s connective tissue. Connective tissue holds all the body’s cells, organs and tissue together. It also plays an important role in helping the body grow and develop properly.

What are some features that can identify Marfan Syndrome?
Long arms, legs and fingers
Tall and thin body type
Curved spine
Chest sinks in or sticks out
Flexible joints
Flat feet
Crowded teeth
Stretch marks on the skin that are not related to weight gain or loss

If you have some of these features and are not sure if you might have Marfan Syndrome please reach out to your P*P for a diagnosis.

Chiropractic care can be helpful for the musculoskeletal aspect of Marfan Syndrome, but this syndrome does need a team of physicians who specialize in the organ systems such as cardiovascular, pulmonary, optometry etc.
