Doula Nathalie & Associates (established in 2018) provides a suite of birth and postpartum doula services in the Washington DC metropolitan area and Annapolis.

After a fulfilling career as an ICU nurse and a stint as a medical sales representative, I embarked on a globetrotting adventure with my family. In 2018, I decided to pursue my passion for supporting expecting parents by becoming a certified birth and postpartum Doula through DONA International. My husband and I are proud parents of three children who have now blossomed into young adults. Two of them are studying in The Netherlands, and our youngest is a rising senior in high school.

I had the privilege of experiencing three distinct birth journeys. The first two took place in a hospital setting, with the first one being induced three weeks early due to medical reasons and the second arriving naturally around the due date. Our third child was born at home, offering a unique perspective on childbirth. Drawing from my nine-year background as an ICU/Cardiac Care nurse, I bring a wealth of knowledge from various medical settings to my role as a Doula. Every day, I am reminded of the immeasurable value of these experiences in guiding expecting parents through their pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

Erin’s own birth experiences sparked her deep passion for walking alongside birthing individuals from pregnancy through postpartum.
As a doula, she brings compassionate care, evidence-based information, and a calming presence to every birth and family she supports. Erin is devoted to creating space for her clients to feel empowered, informed, and confident in making decisions that reflect their values and vision for their birth and early parenting journey.

Meet Makeba Barnes ✨ Birth Doula | Wife | Mom | Advocate for Women
Makeba lives in Prince George’s County and is a proud wife and mother of two young adult sons. Her lifelong passion has been to serve teen girls and women, and she believes her role as a labor doula is truly her purpose-driven mission in life.

She believes deeply in the strength and resilience of a woman’s body to give birth and works to empower her clients to create the birthing experience they desire. Through calm reassurance and compassionate care, Makeba brings a sense of peace and confidence to every birth she attends.
Her tool bag of support includes breathing techniques, labor and birth positions, massage, aromatherapy, and powerful word affirmations.

When she’s not supporting families, Makeba loves spending time with her husband, sons, and extended family. Summer is her favorite season and a day at the beach is her ultimate joy.

I wanted to share that my team is starting a New Mom Support Group starting October 22nd here in our neighborhood at my home. (Bethesda). It’s a cozy, baby-friendly gathering for parents in their first three months postpartum. We’ll meet weekly for five sessions to talk about feeding, sleep, self-care, relationships, and the ups and downs of new parenthood.
