This April, we stand alongside the irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) community and caregivers in recognition of IBS Awareness Month.

IBS is common, but there are different types, including IBS-D, IBS-C, and IBS-M. Each type of IBS causes different kinds of uncomfortable GI symptoms, like stomach pain, diarrhea, stomach bloating, constipation, or cramping. Living with IBS can impact a person’s physical, emotional, and social health.

Talk to your health care provider about your symptoms and how long you’ve had them. Your health care provider may do a few tests, but even when test results are normal, IBS symptoms are real and can be treated.

Your care team will help create an integrated care treatment plan that is unique to you. This can include a mix of diet, medication, and psychological treatments tailored to your needs.

No matter what you’re feeling about your IBS, you’re supported.

What’s one thing you should remember about colorectal cancer?

That screening saves lives.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common cancers among men and women in the U.S., – but it’s time for that to change.

To do that, we need to work together to improve outcomes for everyone.

Our AGA leaders emphasize it best: CRC prevention starts with understanding the importance of screening and options available.

There are multiple screening methods and recommended timelines, depending on family or health history.

The important part is to get started. So even as CRC Month comes to a close, let’s keep the conversation about colorectal cancer screening going.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) affects about 30% of U.S. adults and up to 65% of people with type 2 diabetes, yet many patients remain undiagnosed or untreated.

AGA brought together a multidisciplinary expert panel to update its clinical care pathway to reflect key advances in the field, including new disease nomenclature, emerging therapies, and practical tools for identifying patients at risk for clinically significant fibrosis.

The 2025 update provides an evidence-based framework to help clinicians integrate MASLD screening, diagnosis, and management into routine care across primary care, endocrinology, and specialty settings.

Happy Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month!

Every March, we take time to remind everyone of the importance of getting screened for colorectal cancer because screening saves lives.

For most people, screening starts at age 45. So, if your ID says 1981, it’s your year to !

Your screening timeline might vary depending on your family or health history—talk to your health care provider to determine what’s best for your situation. (And if you begin to experience unusual GI symptoms, don’t chalk it up to your coffee—address it immediately!)

CRC screening should be a part of your routine health maintenance. It’s one of the most common cancers among men and women, and sadly, rates continue to rise among young people.

The good news: early detection through screening ➡️ easier treatments = higher survival rates.

Get screened at the right time—not just for yourself, but for your loved ones. Screening now may give you more time to do what you love longer.

Partner with us all month as we share about the importance of CRC screening, education, and access. Plus, get more resources about payment, coding, and patient education here: https://ow.ly/3s6y50Ymw7k.
