Start the new week and semester off on the right foot. Just relying on your school’s online portal for assignments makes planning harder because you have to break down large assignments and keep track of the planning in your head. Consider using a planner or app of some kind to ensure all assignments and a plan are listed together. App like Todoist, TickTick, and Google Tasks can work well.

I’m very excited and honored to be presenting tomorrow on coaching kids with ADHD in sports. Many kids with ADHD play sports. A lot quit at a young age because of challenges. My goal is to give coaches, sports league staff, and parents the resources they need to help kids with ADHD and all children thrive on and off the field/court.

Sports should be fun...Unless your sole purpose in playing a sport is to make money for a full-time job. Even then, it should ideally still be fun. At the youth level especially, kids should enjoy the sport or at least the sense of community, time with friends, and other things that make it enjoyable enough to keep playing.

A lot of kids, even those without ADHD or executive function issues, do not always fully understand what each position in basketball does. Especially younger kids. In this video I break down what each position does visually and in a simple way one by one. You can share this video with your child or even use a board like this at home if your child really likes basketball and wants to learn more about it. Better understanding the positions helps increase game awareness, confidence, and performance. Most importantly, it can improve enjoyment of the game.
