Yesterday, while working an overtime shift, Officer Hobson responded to a call that was initially reported as a burglary. Fortunately, it turned out to be a suspicious circumstance involving an elderly resident who was deeply concerned about the lock on her front door.

After inspecting the door, Officer Hobson discovered that an improper lock had been installed, leaving the resident feeling unsafe in her own home, so much so that she had been sleeping in her living room out of fear someone might enter.

Recognizing her distress, Officer Hobson didn’t stop at taking a report. He went to Home Depot, purchased a proper lock, and installed it himself, restoring both her security and her peace of mind.

This is what community policing looks like: treating people with care, respect, and compassion. We are proud of Officer Hobson for exemplifying our commitment to serving others!
