Canned cocktails are convenient—but young people are at risk. ⚠️

Drinking can cause brain development, accidents or injuries, alcohol poisoning, and long-term addiction risks. ❌

Fentanyl Awareness 💊

Why do Teens fall for fake Rx pills? 🤔

1. Lack of Awareness: Many teens don’t know that fake pills—often made to look like legitimate medications like Xanax, Percocet, or Adderall—can contain deadly substances like fentanyl.

2. Trust in Appearance: Fake pills are designed to look exactly like real prescription drugs. Teens might believe they are getting a “safe” pharmaceutical product, not realizing how easy it is for drug dealers to press fentanyl into pills that look official.

3. Peer Influence and Social Media: Pills are often marketed through Snapchat, Instagram, or other platforms where teens are active. The drugs are sometimes promoted by peers or influencers, which can lower perceived risk.

4. Stress and Mental Health Struggles: Teens may turn to pills to cope with anxiety, depression, school pressure, or trauma. If a peer offers a pill as a “fix,” they might take it without verifying the source.

5. Perception That Prescription Drugs Are Safer: Even if obtained illegally, teens may assume that a “prescription” drug is safer than street drugs like he**in or m**h. This makes them more vulnerable to taking som**hing that’s actually fake and dangerous.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month! 🍷🍺

What’s actually in that canned cocktail? 🤨

Canned cocktails package liquor into convenient, ready-to-drink formats—making them easy to grab and easy to overlook. But convenience shouldn’t come at the expense of public health. ❌

Many of these drinks contain high alcohol levels, often equal to or stronger than a standard mixed drink, sometimes with multiple servings in a single can. ⚠️

Screening: Pardon Me on April 29 at Allentown Symphony Hall 🎬

Pardon Me is a short documentary that explores how pardons can do more than restore rights—they can give individuals the opportunity to live as full citizens and contribute meaningfully to society. The film examines how second chances can also uplift the lower-income communities where these individuals live. Through the stories of two people navigating the pardon process—one of whom ultimately receives a pardon—and interviews with key civic leaders, Pardon Me highlights the broader social impact of redemption and opportunity.
