We are excited to announce that ESA is hosting our third Optometry Externship Rotation.

Dr. Lucy Adlfinger is a fourth-year optometry student with Midwestern University Chicago College of Optometry and will be working primarily with Dr. Isgrig, her preceptor and clinical liaison. She will complete a twelve-week rotation starting today through February 20th. While she will be working primarily with the glaucoma team, she will be completing rotations on other services that meet her desired educational goals. She is excited to be back in the Quad Cities completing a rotation as she is originally from Milan, graduated from Alleman High School and Augustana College.

We're thrilled to announce that our Festival of Trees entry took home a second-place ribbon in the Pop Culture category!

Our tree, "Grandma Saved from the Reindeer Due to New Glasses," of course, proves that good vision really does save the day (and Grandma)! 😊

ESA staff are wearing their “Do you hear what I hear?” t-shirts on Wednesdays through December to remind patients about the importance of getting their hearing checked.
You should have your hearing checked if you:
• Have to strain to hear normal conversation or watch faces to follow what’s being said
• Frequently ask people to repeat what they’ve said
• Have difficulty understanding women or young children’s voices
• Hear ringing or other noises in your ear
• Turn up the TV or radio excessively to hear them
• Have trouble identifying where sounds are coming from
Recent studies suggest that loss of hearing plays a role in cognitive decline and that using hearing aids slowed or reversed that decline in elderly participants. Call us today to schedule a complimentary hearing test.
