⚠️ If this is your mindset heading into labor, chances are high that you will end up accepting interventions.

Your mindset going into labor can make or break your dream birth!

🚫 focusing on the fear
🚫 doubting your God given ability
🚫 people pleasing
🚫 lack of birth education

Instead….

✨ focus on the beauty of the process
✨ trust that God has a plan for your labor and delivery AND that He created your body in a way to birth your baby!
✨stop trying to please your doctor, family or anyone else. Do what is right for you and your baby.
✨take a quality birth course, read books and listen to podcasts on physiological birth

✨ peaceful, calm, controlled

Those are the 3 words I would use to describe Christian’s beautiful unmedicated, physiological birth.
After laboring all night (literally!), Christian continued to stay calm and in control. I kept telling her husband that she would be approaching transition soon… little did we know she was already fully dilated! She then stayed completely calm and in control while being fully dilated for over an hour and not pushing yet 🤯 She never voiced any doubts or fears. She instead took each contraction as one step closer to meeting her baby 🤍 it was truly incredible to witness!

Whether it’s your first baby or fourth, postpartum can be a lonely time. But you don’t have to do it alone!

This is a free support group for woman in the first year of postpartum, whether it’s your first baby or fourth. We meet twice a month until the end of December.
This is a space where you can come as you are and talk about the good and the difficult parts of postpartum with other women who get it. Our special guest for October will be joining us for on the 18th. More details to come on that! 🤗
There will be coffee, snacks, and you’ll be added to a group chat where you can get encouragement, prayer, and tangible support between meetings. Early crawlers and infants are welcome.

📍Location: 4601 Utica Ridge Rd, Davenport is letting us use their space. This group wouldn’t be possible without their generosity!

📆 First two meetings Oct 4th & 18th at 10:00am-12:00pm

I wanted to give my body the best chance at having an unmedicated birth with our 4th pregnancy. The things you do during pregnancy and labor can really make a difference in how your birth plays out. Preparation is key when planning for an unmedicated birth. As a doula, it’s my goal to prepare my clients mentally, physically and emotionally for birth.

I truly believe God’s hand has been on me throughout each of my births. This includes my first two, which did not go as I had hoped for.
But I still wonder if I would have pushed for 2+ hours with our first or if I would have still needed a c-section with our second. If I would have entered into those births with the knowledge and understanding that I have today, would they have gone differently?

It’s not enough to just desire a natural birth. You need to prepare mentally, emotionally and physically for the marathon you’re approaching.
