Originally from the south suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Black has lived in the Quad Cities since 1970. He graduated with a degree in economics and business from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois in 1974. After working for International Harvester Company until 1979, Dr. Black returned to Augustana for two years of postgraduate science prior to attending the University of Iowa School of Dentistry, graduating in 1985.
Dr. Black has owned and operated a private dental practice in the Quad Cities since 1985, which emphasizes advanced restorative and cosmetic techniques in a beautiful, all-digital office in Bettendorf. He is the leading provider of Invisalign in Eastern Iowa with over 600 cases and has been a recurring guest speaker throughout the country for Invisalign.
Dr. Black is highly trained in Dental Sleep Medicine and his office employs advanced techniques to determine sleep disturbances caused by airway abnormalities. He has been trained by Sleep Group Solutions and Glidewell Dental Laboratories in California. The success rate of dental appliances to alleviate snoring, bruxism, and sleep apneas has been extremely high. In many cases, these appliances are covered in full, or in part, by dental insurance and Medicare. Dr. Black's staff can assist you with all insurance questions.
