It’s not about how it looks 👀
It’s about how it functions.

A tongue tie isn’t diagnosed just because a frenulum is visible. It’s diagnosed when restriction impacts:

▫️ Breathing
▫️ Sleep quality
▫️ Jaw development
▫️ Speech clarity
▫️ Swallowing patterns
▫️ Neck & facial tension

You can have a “small-looking” tie with big symptoms…
Or a prominent frenulum with zero functional restriction.

Assessment should always include movement, compensation patterns, and symptoms — not just appearance.

Function over form. Always.

If you’re only looking at the frenulum… you’re missing the point. 👇

Tongue ties are about FUNCTION, not just appearance.

Ask these instead:
✔️ Can the tongue lift fully to the palate?
✔️ Is there jaw compensation when opening?
✔️ Is there mouth breathing?
✔️ Sleep issues?
✔️ Tension in the neck or shoulders?
✔️ Speech fatigue or clicking?

It’s not “Do I see a tie?”
It’s “Is the tongue doing its job?”

Because symptoms tell the real story.
