βοΈ MENTAL HEALTH TIP OF THE MONTH: PROTECT YOUR PEACE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON βοΈ
The holidays can be joyful, but they can also be overwhelming. This month, give yourself the gift of setting gentle boundaries. Whether itβs saying no to an extra event, limiting time with stressful family dynamics, or carving out a quiet moment for yourself, protecting your energy is an act of self-care.
Try choosing one small boundary each week, like a daily 10-minute walk, a technology-free evening, or skipping an obligation that drains you. Prioritizing your well-being helps you stay grounded, present, and better able to enjoy the parts of the season that truly matter.
Give yourself permission to make space for peace.βοΈ

π Say "hello" to Sarah Pearl Farrior! π
Sarah Pearl is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) who is passionate about helping children and adolescents grow into the best versions of themselves. She feels especially drawn to supporting young people as they navigate challenges related to anxiety, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and identity. Recognizing how overwhelming it can be to grow up in today's world, she understands how important it is to have a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can feel seen and heard.
Because every individual is unique, Sarah Pearl tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each person's needs, using a blend of strengths-based, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral strategies. She enjoys incorporating creative tools such as play, art, and mindfulness to help young people express themselves in ways that feel natural and safe. Ultimately, her biggest goal is to create a space where individuals can be open, feel supported, and feel empowered to build the tools they need to thrive.
Sarah Pearl has been at Tar Heel Human Services since this past August, and would love to schedule an appointment with you. (910) 298-6207
β Question: Do I need a referral to see a therapist?
π Answer: Good news! Most of the time, no referral is needed! You can usually reach out to a therapist directly. However, some insurance plans might require one, so itβs always smart to double-check with your provider first.
