To good to be true?
I was one of the pioneers of the endoscopic minimally invasive facelift in the late nineties . I have done it innumerable times but only in selective cases:younger patients who need volume re positioning and not skin tightening. If you are older ( usually over forty) it does not work!! Leaving loose skin behind will lead you to a substandard result.
Some surgeons try to make up for the fact that they are leaving skin behind by filling the loose skin envelope with implants, fillers or fat. That is a mistake because you are not going to look any younger you are going to look like you gain weight. It is a gimmick, don’t fall for it, please!

A lot of women in their late thirties tend to choose non invasive alternatives to rejuvenate their faces like fillers and threads( like this 39 years old lady) but they fail to recognize that these kind of treatments do not improve their look but they make them look like they gain weight. On top of it when patients choose fillers as they smile they look too cheeky.
Plus they are only temporary and after a few months they need to repeat them.
The mini- vertical lift developed by Dr Renato Calabria offers more permanent solution and definitely a more natural one.
These particular patients need more definition and not more volume. In this case the fillers were removed and the muscles and the skin tout.
The procedure was done under local anesthesia, in less than 2 h with a much shorter recovery time and less cost.
Don’t wast your time, choose a smarter alternative and you will be rewarded.

I have been very vocal about having realistic expectations because it is the key of being satisfied after surgery. When media portrait unobtainable results as real like in this case, it sets a standard for regular people to go after. And that is bad for both plastic surgeons and patients. There is no question that whoever did her facelift, did an excellent job so why touch up the picture?
This post proves without any doubts what I have been saying for months.
Educating patients about surgery is the key of a plastic surgeon’s success and patient’s satisfaction!
