Dr. James J. Reid is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. James J. He’s also a current fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

The private practice focuses on extremity injuries (shoulder, hips, knees, elbows & hands) as well as foot and ankle surgery. Reid, MD, ABOS, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and extremity trauma specialist, serving the community of Culver City in Los Angeles, California, with the highest level of skilled care. Dr. Reid earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and then attended the UCSD School of Medicine in San Diego. He went on to receive his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York, and completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at LAC + USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. He also obtained fellowships at Palo Alto Medical Foundation in California and Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Throughout his career, he has earned numerous awards and distinguished positions, has authored countless publications, and maintains several memberships of professional organizations. At Dr. Reid’s practice, his expertise brings the highest level of treatments, offering a broad complement of orthopedic and sports medicine services, including joint replacement, arthroscopy for knee and shoulder injuries, and fracture care. His many years of training and experience offer accurate diagnoses and treatments for upper extremity injuries and foot and ankle injuries. In addition, he serves as an orthopedic surgeon expert witness to help patients with their injury cases. Perfect way to end a Holiday shortened week. Chronic right knee pain from a fall-we were able to get her surgery completed in time for Thanksgiving and soon she can get back to walking without pain.

Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a noninvasive modality that has been proven to help heal soft tissue injuries and bony nonunions. ESWT is a quick and painless procedure that takes only a few minutes once a week. Typically treatments take 6 weeks and can be used in conjunction with PRP. We are fortunate to have this nonsurgical modality to help care for our patients.

Left tibial plateau fracture with split-depression type deformation. Open reduction with bone graft/plate and screw construct is the gold standard to attempt to regain function. However; damaged articular cartilage/meniscus often presents with late onset arthritis. CT images are best to evaluate and help with surgical planning.
