Is a Fat Transfer Permanent?

Great question! On average, I tell my patients that about 50% of the fat that place will stay. Those fat cells can get smaller if you lose weight and conversely, they can enlarge if you gain weight. So, the goal is to maintain the weight you’re at after you do the transfer! Listen to the video for a more in-depth explanation!

Can you get a “Preventative Facelift”?

The answer is yes! We have been doing more facelifts for patients in their early 40s, if their face begins to drop, lines and wrinkles begin to deepen and the skin on their neck loosens. The reason it can be beneficial to get a facial rejuvenation “preventively” in your early 40s vs. an “emergency” facelift in your late 50s or beyond is that the younger you are, the better the elasticity of your skin is and the longer the lift will last! Every patient’s facial anatomy is unique, and must be assessed individually.

Mary is only four-months post-op from her quad blepharoplasty! We did a basic upper blepharoplasty AND a lower blepharoplasty with fat repositioning.

The main goal for Mary was to keep these results looking as natural as possible. You’d never know she had surgery, but you can still tell she looks refreshed and rejuvenated!

One of the most popular questions I get asked is about how I prevent the scarring of lip lifts…

The number one answer? Excellent suturing!
You also have to be extremely meticulous with the amount of skin that you’re going to remove as well. My attention to detail and precision are two of the things I pride myself most on!

Why do some facelifts look “pulled” or “overdone”?

It’s mainly due to the direction of the lift. Our goal is to pull everything back up to its natural position, not to pull it laterally causing that “wind-blown” look, overdo the eyebrows or take too much skin from the upper eyes, leaving you with that “surprised” look!

I like to say, “Put it back up to where it used to be!” That’s how you create a natural, beautiful facial rejuvenation.

Did you know that in low doses, Accutane can actually help reduce nasal tip swelling following a rhinoplasty?
