More than 1.1 million people were murdered in Auschwitz. My mother was one of the fortunate ones that survived the horrors of the N**i complex. By her admission, translating German into Hungarian and Yiddish to the incoming prisoners. She rarely, if ever spoke of it, but did document her experience with the Shoah Foundation at USC. Above are her indentification cards she used post war in Munich then to enter the United States with her nationality ‘Jew’ and her prisoner number 3110. A reminder that it really happened. I hope no person will ever have to witness, much less endure, such atrocities against humanity.

Today, while we remember the 6 million Jews that perished in the Holocaust, I am also honoring my parents who survived. They survived by standing against ignorance, hate, bigotry and oppression. Their perseverance defined them in many facets of their lives, including the loving parents they were to my brother and me and, in turn, the parents we are to our families.
My father recently celebrated 101 years surrounded by not only the reminder in the photo, but his family. The following are a few highlights of my mother who sadly passed away ten years ago today. She was one of the fortunate one's to have survived Auschwitz.

In my professional life the results are not subjective - my ‘art’ must be subtle and not distracting. Whereas, in photography I strive to find subjects and compositions that standout. This group caught my eye as they engaged in similar activities unaware of each other or as I see it, together yet alone.

This 36 years young patient was dissatisfied with the loss of volume to her breast, primarily to the upper pole area post pregnancy. During her consultation we used the Vectra 3D Imaging machine to determine the best implant size to substantially increase her breast size while maintaining a natural balance to her frame. She underwent a dual plane Breast Augmentation with 445cc smooth, round moderate profile implants. This after photos were taken four months post surgery. She is thrilled with her results and revealed that she is feeling more confident than ever!

When patients question why I do not perform BBL procedures for safety reasons, I cite the mortality issues as conveyed by my medical society, the ASPS. Cosmetic procedures or beauty trends should never come at the cost of increased mortality. Patient safety and performing what is appropriate to meet realistic expectations are the corner stone of my ethos and practice.

A year ago I asked ‘How will you celebrate 100?’ Well… he did it surrounded by dear friends and family, that included his two great grandchildren.

A true gentleman that exemplifies the Greatest Generation; a Holocaust Survivor and loving father and grandfather that has certainly contributed to our family’s work ethic and intellectual curiosity. He still enjoys an evening Campari cocktail and reading (or looking through) one of his many books, as well as, loving his family unconditionally. We are proud and thrilled to have the honor of celebrating this milestone.

This lovely patient had saline implants placed on top of the muscle (sub-mammary) about 25 years ago. Over time the shape of her implants distorted and the upper pole because very pronounced as her own breast tissue thinned. I performed a capsulectomy and exchange of implants. A completely new pocket was made under the muscle (sun-muscular) and new smaller silicone gel implants were implanted - 310cc Allergan smooth round, moderate profile implants. Her breasts are softer in both feel and appearance, as well as, her décolletage has a natural looking transition. She is thrilled with results and only regrets waiting so long to have the revision.
