This lovely patient came to us concerned by the heaviness surrounding her eyes. She was reminded of it anytime she put eye makeup on and was bothered by the constant look of being tired even when she wasn’t.

She was a great candidate for an upper blepharoplasty in which I removed the excess eyelid skin, in turn opening up her eyes for a more youthful look.

The goal was to enhance and preserve her natural shape while preventing hollowing and overcorrection.

Subtle. Refined. Natural.

She almost lost her nose… and it started with what was supposed to be a “simple” revision.

In this powerful episode of Plastic Surgery Uncensored, I sit down with my patient whose rhinoplasty journey took a terrifying turn—one that nearly ended in tissue loss and permanent damage.

What began as a trusted relationship with a reputable Beverly Hills surgeon slowly unraveled after a revision procedure led to serious complications, infection concerns, hyperbaric treatments, and a desperate race to save her nose.

But this isn’t just a horror story. It’s an educational one.
I break down the critical differences in thick-skinned (“ethnic”) rhinoplasty, why revision surgery is exponentially more complex, how filler in the wrong setting can become dangerous, and why choosing the cheapest option can end up costing the most.

If you’re considering rhinoplasty—especially revision surgery—this is information you need to hear before making your decision.

These are the moments that are humbling.

A rhinoplasty is a life-changing procedure—not just because of what they see in the mirror, but because of improved nasal function.

For this patient, the primary goal was enhancing breathing after a lifetime of difficulty. To capture the moment of him taking his first breath with improved function was amazing.

Just weeks after surgery, he’s already experiencing a meaningful improvement in airflow, while also benefiting from subtle aesthetic refinement. As swelling continues to resolve and healing progresses, both function and appearance will continue to improve.

Follow to see his journey—and if you have questions, drop them below. Education is everything.

Have you ever wondered why some patients complain about breathing issues after a cosmetic nose job—even when they didn’t have them before?

The truth is, your nose is designed for more than just aesthetics; it’s your primary airway. Let’s break down the 3 critical factors your surgeon should prioritize to prevent breathing problems post-rhinoplasty:

1️⃣ Preserving the Internal Nasal Valve: When reducing a hump, it’s crucial to ensure the internal valve doesn’t collapse. This small area plays a huge role in airflow (think of how a Breathe Right strip works).

2️⃣ Protecting Cartilage in the Tip: Removing too much cartilage can create an inward collapse, blocking airflow every time you breathe in.

3️⃣ Avoiding Over-Clipping the Nostrils: Making the nostrils too small might look cute, but it can severely restrict air intake.

A successful rhinoplasty isn’t just about how it looks; it’s about how it functions.

What’s your biggest concern when it comes to rhinoplasty—breathing, aesthetics, or both?

Aging is inevitable. Being misled about it isn’t.

In this episode of Plastic Surgery Uncensored, I break down the true biology of aging — and why it’s far more complex than just “wrinkles.” Collagen and elastin decline. Fat shifts and disappears. Bone resorbs. Muscle thins. Circulation changes. Then you layer in sun exposure, stress, lifestyle, and genetics. Aging isn’t one event — it’s a cascade happening all at once.

If you want to approach aging with clarity instead of hype, this is where you start.

One of the most common questions I get after a tummy tuck is: “How long do I need to stay hunched over?”

After surgery, it’s completely normal to walk slightly bent at the waist — usually about 15–20 degrees — during the first several days. This position protects your incision, reduces tension on your abdominal repair, and supports proper healing.

But when should you start standing fully upright?

Recovery is a process, and timing matters. In this video, I break down what’s normal, what to expect, and how to transition safely so you protect your results.

If you’re preparing for a tummy tuck — or currently recovering — this is important information.

Butts have always been part of beauty culture. What’s changed is how aggressively we chase them—and what that says about the pressure people feel today.

In this episode of Plastic Surgery Uncensored, I pull back the curtain on the obsession with curves and explain what patients really need to know about butt enhancement.

We talk about the rise of BBLs, the role social media plays in creating unrealistic expectations, and why trend-driven surgery can have serious long-term consequences.

I explain how BBLs actually work, why they require aggressive liposuction, and the risks that often get minimized— including unpredictable results and real safety concerns.

My goal is simple: clarity, honesty, and protecting patients first.

Did you know hernias and diastasis are frequently concurrent and can be corrected simultaneously WITHOUT mesh? This video is a must watch!

A common misconception is to repair your hernia first and then the DR. This is an error and here’s why:

Correcting a hernia on its one without addressing the diastasis = a high probability of failure as the surrounding tissue is weak and compromised. Additionally, you’d be undergoing two surgeries with two recoveries - sounds brutal and unnecessary. Lastly, you would be stuck with mesh, a foreign material in the middle of your abdomen which often leads to its own subset of issues.

In my approach to abdominal wall reconstruction, I repair the hernia, and reinforce it in conjunction with the diastasis repair through a multilayer plication. I haven’t ever used mesh even in the most severe cases.

SAVE and SHARE this information with anyone you know who’s suffering from diastasis.

Thinking about liposuction now and a tummy tuck later? This is important to understand first.

In this video, I explain why sequencing matters—and how prior liposuction can impact surgical planning and outcomes of a tummy tuck.

Education leads to better decisions and better results.
