Rib cartilage > ear framework
We made this cartilage ear framework for our young patient on our surgical mission to Guatemala last week.
We reconstruct ears for children using their own rib cartilage. During the first stage of surgery, rib is removed from the patient's chest and an ear framework is carefully carved and otherwise constructed, then implanted under the skin.

We are fortunate to have an outstanding team of surgeons, anesthetists and nurses from around the US.
