20 years as a plastic surgeon and somehow these still surprise people…

1️⃣ Yes, you actually need to increase your protein intake after surgery. Healing is metabolic work. Your body needs fuel to repair tissue properly.

2️⃣ When I say limit activity for 6 weeks, I mean 6 full weeks. Not “I feel good so I’ll try a workout.” The best results come from respecting the recovery process.

3️⃣ Botox isn’t permanent. If you want consistent, natural-looking results, you need to maintain it every 3–4 months. It wears off. That’s biology.

4️⃣ And anesthesia? In healthy patients, it’s very safe. With a great board-certified anesthesiologist, it’s often the most relaxing nap you’ll get all year.

Good outcomes are a partnership. I’ll do my part in the operating room. You do yours in recovery. 🤝

Explant case of the day: This patient had saline implants placed under the muscle nearly 20 years ago following a history of pectus excavatum. Over time, she developed significant capsular contracture on both sides, with heterotopic calcification on one and a chronic hematoma pocket on the other.

Cases like this are a reminder that implants are not lifetime devices, and long-term changes can and do happen.

If you have questions about capsular contracture, calcification, or hematomas, leave them below ⬇️

Great question from a follower who has a ruptured silicone implant. It is each patients invididual decision to have a lift or fat grafting (or both) after explant surgery.

Looking to explant? Contact my office if you would like help with your explant journey, we are happy to help 🙏

If it’s cheap, unlicensed, or happening in someone’s living room—run 🏃‍♀️

The “BBL” didn’t disappear — its evolved. Today we call it fat grafting to the buttocks: a safer, more refined approach when done correctly, by the right surgeon.

Technique and standards matter. Do your homework.

Forehead Botox tip 👇
If you only treat the 11s, the forehead can overcompensate.

Hello over-arched brows 🖖🏼

The forehead works as a unit.
That’s why we balance the glabella and frontalis for smoother movement and natural results.
