Worn-down teeth can happen for many reasons, including grinding or clenching, nail biting, acidic diets, or simply just time and bite forces. In this patient’s case, due to chronic nail biting, the layer underneath enamel, known as dentin, became exposed, leading to excessive wear in the teeth. Dr. LeSage crafted veneers as a solution to restore strength, function, and a natural smile, protecting what remains while also rebuilding what was lost.

Prototypes are an important step in treatment, as they help predict the final outcome. With this patient’s teeth, as there was noticeable wear, the goal was to restore what was once there in a natural way. After prototype approval, the final results exceeded expectations, leading to a happy patient and shiny smile!

After 30 years of veneers, it was time for an upgrade. This patient’s prototypes served as a way to refine and restore length, contour, and symmetry, all of which set the foundation for the final result. This was a mockup to trial their esthetic outcome, as well as their function and bite.

Internal bleaching (walking bleach) works by gently brightening teeth from the inside, making it great for tough stains. For this patient, we used it to whiten her tooth, and focus on brightening up some staining on the front central incisor. The result speaks for itself, a noticeably brighter, more sterling smile.

The longevity of a crown…
Once the form of a crown is decided and designed, it is then milled in-office. Dr. LeSage then takes these crowns from the milling unit and hand carves each cusp and curve into it, adding anatomy for a natural look and prime function. Afterwards, he goes in with some staining, contributing even more to the crown’s such lively appearance. Each stroke and each step is crafted by Dr. LeSage’s steady precision. Take a look at this compelling process by swiping through!
