I’m trying to restart the St. Lucia Medical Mission. MEEi started a mission here while I was a resident and it was a life changing experience for me. It stopped after 3 years due to funding and I have been coming over the years to teach the local oohthalmogists. West Virginia University has been coming here for the last 15 years doing God’s work. I’m trying to start another mission through UCLA. The people of St. Lucia certainly need the help.

We just finished our UCLA Thyroid Eye Disease Orbital Masters Course. It was such a fantastic course with specialists from all over the world. On Friday, I was teaching surgical techniques and on Saturday, I presented data from my Clinical Trials for new medical treatments for TED.

It was a lot different watching the F1 Las Vegas race in person than on TV. The cars go much faster and they are super loud with the smell of burnt rubber. It was also amazing to see all the grandstands and setup for the race that will be taken down today.

Congratulations to Bob Goldberg (my Chief, mentor and great friend) who delivered the Wendell Hughes lecture at the AAO meeting in Chicago. This lecture is to the entire AAO (20K plus members) and is the most prestigious lecture for an oculoplastics and orbital surgeon.

I'm in the UK and just gave a lecture to the British Oculoplastic Society on my experience as the number one prescriber of Tepezza in the US, treating over 250 Thyroid Eye Disease patients with Tepezza. Tepezza is currently only available in the US, so our UK colleagues wanted to hear all about it.

It was great to see all my old and new friends from the UK.

In the photo, I’m moderating the dissection portion of our annual UCLA Aesthetics Course. We always have a two day course, which is sold out months in advance with physician participants from all over the world in our Masters Course. Day one is live cadaver dissection as well as streaming into our High Definition Audio Visual Suite. Day two consists of didactic lectures from our UCLA faculty, as well as guest lecturers. It was our best course ever and so much fun for me.
