Meet Carter, Beverly Hospital's first baby of 2026!🌟

Born right on his due date at 7:32 a.m. on New Year’s Day, Carter weighed 8 lbs., 14 oz. and measured 20½ inches long. He’s already so loved, joining four excited older siblings, each delivered at Beverly Hospital, along with proud parents Katie and Mike. Congratulations to the entire family on their newest addition! 💙

BILH’s inaugural Sustainability Summit brought colleagues together across the system to celebrate and strengthen our commitment to environmental stewardship. 🌱

Congratulations to Ed Lydon, Wally Rucki, Henry St. Hilaire, and Erica Short from Facilities & Plant Operations at Beverly Hospital — who were recognized as Jane Matlaw Environmental Champion Awardees for leading a major upgrade to the hospital’s central plant heating system.

By converting to low-pressure steam, this project will save $90,000 annually in fuel costs, significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve heating reliability and capacity, and cut air pollutants by 56% — a powerful step forward for sustainability and operational excellence.

Born at Beverly Hospital, Deidre grew up with a strong connection to its community, inspired by her father, Dr. Hugh O’Flynn, who served as an orthopedic surgeon there for many years.

Addison Gilbert Hospital and the Gloucester Fire Department are teaming up to help ensure every child on Cape Ann receives a gift this holiday season! 🎁 The Cape Ann Kids Holiday Fund supports local families by providing toys to more than 1,250 children across Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester-by-the-Sea, Essex, and Ipswich.

Congratulations to our latest recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse, Catherine McAteer, RN!🌼 Catherine was nominated by a patient's family member for her empathy, advocacy and dedication.

"What stands out most about Catherine is her unwavering empathy and fierce dedication to her patients. She was [my brother's] advocate when he couldn’t always advocate for himself. She listened closely, acted quickly... That sense of dignity and comfort she gave him—especially near the end—was a gift to our whole family.
