One of the fabulous amenities we provide is home-cooked meals three times daily, every day of the week🍽️ During meals, each resident is invited to their seat in our dining room and brought a specially made plate just for her. Our talented cooks include Rita, Mimosa and Angela, who cater delicious meals to each of our residents and plate each dish specifically for the woman getting it. Any beverage, tea, coffee, juice, etc. is provided and we often serve desserts after the meal. Meals are cooked in our brand new state of the art kitchen renovated this past spring!

We provide a wonderful retirement option for women who want comfort and support at a reasonable monthly fee. Each resident has a private bedroom and bathroom in a historic home set in one of Beverly’s most desirable residential neighborhoods. All meals are home-cooked and served three times daily, seven days a week, in a lovely dining room. Our staff also provides weekly housekeeping, laundry service, a hair salon, medication reminders, and weekly activities, like Wendy the Guitarist. Residents spend their days in the common areas, and in good weather, enjoying the front porch and courtyard overlooking the ocean, and taking walks down to the beach.

The Girdler House was founded in 1887, originally named the Old Ladies Home Society, located in a small house at 12 Lovett Street, Beverly, MA. The home began when a group of young women were driven by compassion to provide shelter for moderately independent women over 60 years of age. The original home housed just five ladies, but many more were interested. Thanks to community support and help from church groups, individuals and businesses, the Old Ladies Home Society was able to buy and refit the Beverly Inn property at 78 Lothrop Street, increasing accommodation to 15 residents starting in 1919. In 1967, the Old Ladies Home Society adopted “Girdler House” as its name after its first president.
Today, the Girdler House remains at 78 Lothrop Street, Beverly, MA, overlooking the ocean and providing a wonderful home for 14 elderly women.

Our new weekend cook, Keli, has been doing a wonderful job training! Today for lunch the ladies enjoyed rosemary sage grilled chicken legs, cranberry sauce, grilled herb potatoes and green beans.

For dessert we served a brookie (that's a brownie with a chocolate chip cookie on top) with some chocolate ice cream and whipped cream.
