What a year it’s been at Thrive Doula Columbus 💛

From supporting 28 (maybe 29?) births to educating 75 families on childbirth, this work continues to be an honor we never take lightly. Every birth, every family, every moment matters.

We’re celebrating the wins — vaginal births, VBAC successes, first-time parents, repeat clients — and also setting intentions for the year ahead. Our goals center on integrity, sustainability, expanded postpartum support, and continued work toward maternal health equity in our community.

Thank you to every family who trusted us with their care and every supporter who believes in this mission. We’re excited for what’s next 🤍

So your healthcare provider is REALLY nice at your annual visit, wears great shoes, and usually runs fairly on time. You will obviously have a great birth with them, right?🤗

Um, maybe. 🫣 But you get one shot at the most transformative day of your life, and it’s worth doing a little research. Some things that should make you ask more questions (just to name a few):

📋Lots of mentions of practice/hospital policies or rules, as if these are hard and fast laws rather than guidelines
🙋🏾‍♀️Seems annoyed by or too busy for questions, or doesn’t answer fully
🧟‍♂️Works in a large group practice and can’t speak to how your care would differ if a partner were on call the day of your birth
😷Won’t share personal or hospital intervention rates, or doesn’t know and won’t find out (FYI: CS rate for this doula is 11%, primary CS rate is 7%, VBAC rate is 90%, instrumental delivery rate is
