What I do when I need help. Yes, I “break down” as well. If I don’t listen to my body cues it will get worse and I won’t be able to work, so I take it seriously! My job is pretty physical, bending over you peeps all day long, lifting legs and heads while you’re relaxed, and using my “pointy fingers” to work on trigger points you didn’t know were even there.
So, time to do what I can on myself. My wrist had occasional sharp pain and weakness that just started today. I heated the left arm to prep the muscles for the beating I would be giving them. I used some CBD oil to help the tools glide. I worked on the outer fascia layers first with cupping and fascia blasting. Then I scraped it using a gua sha tool. Then I got into deeper trigger points to fully release it. I worked above and below the pain area to find the problem. It was actually from my forearm muscles, not my wrist. I did this while I was on a zoom call because I could. Now I will add some magnesium lotion to it and leave it alone for the rest of the day. If it’s not better then I will call on others to help me do what I cannot - could be an adjustment, massage and/or PT.
Don’t forget there are so many things we can do for ourselves to help. If you don’t have fancy tools it’s ok, use what you have. Grab that massage gun, ask a partner to help massage it, use a Chinese spoon to scrape over the area with lotion. Hydrate better, eat non inflammatory foods, and don’t do things that make it hurt. Google stretches! If you have me as your chiropractor I will gladly give you more specific ideas too. Call or text me at 763-263-6287 and take care of yourself.
