Going the distance...metaphorically of course.

Just a reminder, I'll be out of the office next week! Headed to Baton Rouge Louisiana with Abbi for Highschool Nationals. I will be back Monday the 8th! Until then I leave you in the capable hands of Jose, he'll be covering my clients while I'm away, so nobody has to miss a workout! Don't miss me too much... 🤣

Sitting in the office on break today filling out my PT log for the week so far, and adding it to the pile from the last few months. It got me thinking about things, each one of these hours logged represents a few things to me. Each hour is money on a paycheck, that's great for sure, but it's not the single biggest reason I do this. Each one represents helping others reach their goals, whatever that may be, this is my reason for loving this job the way I do, and it's what keeps me coming back. These hours also represent floor time, time for me to hone my skills as a trainer, the queuing, the attending mannerisms, how to properly multi task in a hectic setting, understanding how to properly load a client and pivot in a moments notice when I have to progress or regress a certain exercise. I grew up in a family of tradesman, and I look at being a personal trainer much in the same way they looked at their chosen trade, they loved their work and were never complacent with where they were at, always wanting to improve and gain more knowledge to better themselves. I do think this trait is the single biggest factor between someone who loves being a trainer, and someone who just "likes" being a trainer. Never be scared to be better, and don't shy away from the work needed to get there.
🤷 Just some ramblings from an old cockeyed trainer...

I just wanted to take a second and give a huge congratulations to my client Hunter Cassidy he snagged All-conference honors last Saturday for wrestling. This really doesn't surprise me, he comes in late twice a week to workout with me after his wrestling practice. He always has a smile on his face and does all that's asked of him without so much as a roll of the eyes. There's a lot to be said about a great work ethic and good attitude, and Mr. Cassidy embodies both of those traits. He's only a freshman, I truly am looking forward to seeing his continued progress in wrestling and here at the gym!

I'm out of the office until next Tuesday! I just wanted to take a moment and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, I genuinely hope each and every one of you get a chance to slow down, eat a bit too much and enjoy time with family, I know that's my plan over the next few days anyway... See you all next Tuesday morning, bright and early!!!

I've had the pleasure of working with these kids and more since they were in middle school. Now some are graduating and some still have a year or two left of highschool sports. The common thread with all of them is their commitment to their dreams, working while others play and mess around, putting in the work not only during the off-season, but in season as well. Congrats fellas! Each one of you earned every accolade coming your way! Keep grinding!

Better late than never!

Congrats to our dream team athletes at the gym!!!!

Jack Bollman
Riley Venix
Kaleb Dubowski
Garret Foster
Philip Wilber

These guys worked their butts off this offseason and it showed!

We are proud of these young men and can't wait to see what life after highschool has in store for them!

Let's help make someone's Christmas a bit brighter... Plus you'll get to see my smiling face and gorgeous mullet!!

Tonight when I finished up with my last client of the day around 8:30, and I was getting ready to head out, I had to chuckle to myself a little. It hit me that I had been at the gym for around 11 hours today, I trained clients, helped people who are being programmed by the gym when they had questions, cleaned and made sure things were picked up, spent time talking with the boss man about nerdy gym stuff in between clients, and it hit me how much I absolutely love this job. I get to wear gym clothes all day, help people get strong, all while letting my unmedicated ADHD mouth run wild! Sure beats the old road construction days spending time out of town, working in crappy weather and always working weekends... 🤣 Thank you all for your continued support, without it I wouldn't be able to pay my bills doing what I love!

Good Monday morning to you all, I hope the weekend treated you well. Just wanted to remind everyone that the easiest way to get a hold of me, and get on my schedule is to go directly to the getjdfit.com website and follow the steps! I've gotten quite a few messages from people wanting to train, and my answer will be the same 100% of the time, go to the website. Everything done here at JDfit is run off that site.

See you all soon,
Demo Dan
