I grew up celebrating the rising of Jesus as a Jehovah’s Witness. Our community around the world filled the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. It was a site to see and I remember looking forward to these assemblies. Although I no longer resonate with Jehovah’s Witnesses there is no denying the love I have for Jesus. When I discovered the gnostic texts and mysteries of Mary Magdalene my love for Jesus made much sense. A high priestess and priest in service to a ministry of love and preservation of the sacred. A lineage that runs deep in my blood and bone, that I have been in devotion to for life times. If it was through this religion that I would be given the bread crumbs of this remembrance I am forever grateful.
The woman I learned about as a young girl who washed and anointed Jesus feet with her hair and sacred oils, who was at his feet at the cross, the woman who prepared his body for ascension and was the one to see him in his light body, she was his beloved, his lover, his wife, his partner in every single way. She did not run when others did, she stood stead fast and she continued their ministry to her last days on Earth.
Today I celebrate this union and the completion of their good works, all they sacrificed for their ministry of love. So that we may continue to spread the good word during these transformative times on Earth.
These resurrection rites are ancient Goddess rites and Mary Magdalene was trained in these mystery teachings, a devotee, a high priestess. Jesus was her initiate. Through her womb he was resurrected.
