The Legacy of Family Hurt – Family Themes Across Generations

Presenter: Bonnie Cripe PhD, CCH

We often carry on dis-eases and behaviors that “run in the family”: Pain, grief, uncertainty and anxiety, mental and physical ailments, and unhealthy behavior can all be part of the pattern that gets passed down by our parents, grandparents, and through the generations of our family. Generations may suffer from a great-grandparent’s experiences without knowing why. Practitioners of Regression Therapy have noticed an enormous influence by both the living and deceased family members. This influence as the origin of mental and physical disease or restricted behavior is underestimated by the medical community.

Become aware of what you took over from your parent(s). Once you know that, you can take responsibility and free yourself and your children from a family legacy.

In the group session we will explore the kind of cross generational burden you took on for continuation in the family. You will experience what consequences, both mental and physical, have been passed on and why you continue to carry it.
You will experience what it will be like to free yourself from that burden.
Retrieve your own potentials and energy that was lost or overshadowed.
We will also work with your own children and what you have passed on to them.
Without the veils of the hidden family legacy, your awareness is clearer and you may have a clearer understanding of why it was so difficult to heal certain parts of your life. It is an empowering process.

Date: April 20, 2024

Time: 10:30 am-1:30 pm

Place: The Centre Building, 18554 Northland Drive, Big Rapids

Fee: $55

To “let go” does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else
To “let go” is not to cut myself off, it’s the realization I can’t control another
To “let go” is not to enable, but to allow earning from natural consequences
To “let go” is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands
To “let go” is not to try to change or blame another, it’s to make the most of my self
To “let go” is not to care for, but to care about
To “let go” is not to fix, but to be supportive
To “let go” is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being
To “let go” is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes but to allow others to affect their destinies
To “let go” is not to be protective, it’s to permit another to face reality
To “let go” is not to deny, but to accept
To “let go” is not to nag, scold or argue, but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them
To “let go” is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes, and cherish myself in it
To “let go” is not to criticize and regulate anybody but to try to become what I dream I can be
To “let go” is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future
To “let go” is to fear less, and to love more

The Legacy of Family Hurt – Family Themes Across Generations
Healing from beliefs, ideas and family patterns that have been passed down through the generations.

We often carry on dis-eases and behaviors that “run in the family”: Pain, grief, uncertainty and anxiety, mental and physical ailments, and unhealthy behavior can all be part of the pattern that gets passed down by our parents, grandparents, and through the generations of our family. Generations may suffer from the experiences of a great-grandparent without knowing the reason why.

Join us June 10th for a workshop to work on generational healing:

"You must do the thing you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt

Covid19 has changed our world and how we are living our lives right now but remember, this too shall pass. I don't know when, but eventually it will. Know you can get through it. Take the time to let others know you care. Be kind to yourself and others. We can get through this together. Be safe and stay healthy.
