We’ve gotten way too used to seeing ourselves up close, all the time.

Zoomed in, overanalyzing, looking for things to fix that no one else would ever notice.

And the truth is… it changes how we see ourselves.

It makes everything feel like a problem.

But your skin was never meant to be viewed under a microscope every day.

It’s allowed to be textured, to change, and to just be.

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do for your skin…
is to stop staring at it so closely.

This past month has given me a lot of moments to pause and reflect.

Like many people, it would have been easy to let my mind spiral into everything that feels heavy right now. There is so much happening in the world and in people’s lives that can leave you feeling overwhelmed.

Instead, I tried to be intentional with where I placed my attention.

I found myself thinking about the people who have shaped my life. The mentors, teachers, and quiet guides who asked so little of me but gave so much through their presence, their wisdom, and the way they lived.

Those reflections brought both tears of sorrow and tears of gratitude.

They reminded me that even in difficult moments, there is still so much goodness worth carrying forward.

This month, more than anything, reminded me to stay present, to stay grateful, and to continue showing up for the people and work that mean the most to me.

And for that, I feel incredibly thankful.

One of the most common things I hear is someone saying a product “didn’t work,” when in reality their skin simply hasn’t had enough time to respond.

Skin renews itself through a cycle. For many women in their 40s and 50s, that cycle can take close to two months from the time new cells begin forming to when they reach the surface.

That means real, visible change rarely happens overnight or even within a couple of weeks.

If a product is causing irritation, breakouts, or doesn’t feel right for your skin, that’s important feedback and it may not be the right fit. But when it comes to seeing improvement, consistency and patience are essential.

Healthy skin is usually the result of steady support over time, not quick fixes.

One of the things I see often is people trying to “fix” their skin by adding more and more products.

It’s an understandable reaction. When something changes, the instinct is to correct it quickly. But skin is constantly responding to signals from both inside and outside the body—stress, environment, sleep, hormones, light exposure.

Sometimes when skin feels reactive or unsettled, it’s not asking for more intervention. It’s asking for a little less pressure.

Understanding skin as living tissue changes the conversation. Instead of assuming something is wrong, we can start asking what the skin might be responding to.
That shift alone often leads to better decisions for long-term skin health.

Spring in Big Sky is beautiful, but it’s also when the sun gets serious. ☀️

Between altitude, reflection off the snow, and longer days outside, this is the time of year I see the most preventable skin damage.

The truth is, sunscreen and barrier support matter even more here than they do in most places.

One of the reasons I’m intentional about the products I carry is because I’ve tested them in this exact environment. And just as importantly, you know where they’re coming from. A lot of people don’t realize that when skincare is purchased online, there’s often no reliable way to confirm whether the retailer is actually authorized.

If you’re heading into spring skiing, spring break, or simply spending more time outdoors, it’s a good time to make sure your skincare routine is set up for the season.

If you need sunscreen, barrier support, or want help choosing the right products for your skin, send me a DM. I’m not always open for walk-ins, but I’m always happy to recommend what makes sense and set something aside for pickup.

Shop my website for FREE shipping or next-day pick-up locally in Big Sky.

Don't forget to pick up a bottle of my new favorite Korean Sunscreen SPF 50, re-stocked in time for Spring Skiing. Or a travel set filled with Eminence Organic Skin Care's best sellers, so you won't miss a day of your routine, even on vacation. Adipeau has been getting rave reviews from my clients for its ability to strengthen and hydrate the whole body. If you've been curious about liquid microneedling or spicules, I've added the "Spicule Serum" as a product for at-home use. This gentle yet effective serum from Korea uses ground up sea sponge (spicules) to create microscopic channels in the skin, prompting new collagen to form. This is a fun serum that can be added to any facial.
Thank you for continuing to support my locally owned & operated business.
Celebrating 5 years in April!
Sincerely,
Amy Woodger
