The VLB Texas State Veterans Homes provide affordable, long-term nursing care for Texas Veterans, their spouses and Gold Star parents. Conveniently located across Texas, each first-class facility is designed to enhance quality of life with a clean, caring and dignified setting appropriate to those men and women who have served our country with honor. Ombudsman Resource Information: A long-term care ombudsman helps residents and family members of a skilled nursing facility resolve complaints. Help provided by an ombudsman is confidential and free of charge. To speak with an ombudsman, a person may call the toll-free number 1-800-252-2412.

🚨 Applications are currently being accepted for residency at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring.

Eligible Veterans with a 70% or higher service-connected disability may live at the home for free.

All of our Texas State Veterans Homes are Texas-owned and regulated by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Texas VLB has an on-site representative in each home to ensure our distinguished long-term residents get the best possible care.

Our home received TONS of Valentine's cards from so many kind-hearted people.

We deeply appreciate all the beautiful, heartfelt cards that you wrote for our Veterans. ❤️

Texans, let's show some love to our Veterans this Valentine's Day! ❤️

Commissioner Buckingham is encouraging everyone to participate in the VLB's "Valentines for Vets" campaign.

Help us honor and show our appreciation to the brave men and women who served our country by mailing a Valentine's card to the Veterans who reside in any of the 10 Texas State Veterans Homes.

All cards should be postmarked by February 10th and include 'Valentines for Vets' in the mailing address.

Let's make this Christmas season special for our Texas Veterans! 🎁

Commissioner Buckingham encourages Texans to adopt a Veteran this Christmas season by participating in Angel Tree donations at the VLB's Texas State Veterans Homes.

Every year, our Veterans homes display an Angel Tree for Veterans to share their Christmas lists with their community.

You can visit one of our participating Veterans homes, select an angel from the tree, and provide the Veteran's gift by the specified deadline.

On Memorial Day, we held a beautiful ceremony to honor our fallen heroes at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home.

We had a cookout and hosted a car show for our Veterans to enjoy. There was also a flyover, and our WWII Veteran was awarded a quilt of valor.

Thank you to everyone who helped us with this special event to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
